Chart 05 / Mailbox signal traffic

Whatever message costs you money is going to look precisely like the ones that never do.

Mail is where the majority of losses begin, and any message convincing enough to matter has already cleared whatever stands in front of your tenant. This station operates inside the mailbox over the API, and it treats the people reading their mail as a working part of the control rather than the part everybody blames afterward.

Why this works from inside the tenant

Ironscales joins Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace over the API and examines mail that has landed already. Two things follow from that. Mail between colleagues never passes a perimeter at all, so a colleague's compromised account writes from within, untouched by whatever guards the way in. And a bad message can be chased down and lifted from each mailbox it landed in, hours past delivery, which nothing standing upstream is ever able to do.

The purchase here is mailbox-level API protection. To call it a gateway would simply be untrue. We hold the distinction firmly because the two get purchased for unrelated reasons, and blurring them would sell you the wrong thing.

Drilling people is a control and not a compliance box

Simulated mail exists to work out who wants help, never to produce a ranking. Campaigns run all year and training arrives in minutes rather than as an annual hour everybody clicks past, aimed at whoever the evidence says would benefit. One figure deserves attention and it is not the failure count. It is whether the volume of reports keeps climbing.

Reporting is where the return lives. Once your workforce forwards odd mail somewhere a human genuinely reads it, several hundred mailboxes have quietly become several hundred sensors, and that is the least expensive detection anywhere in this catalog.

Mailbox Defense with Training

Ironscales working from inside the tenant, drilling included

Mailbox-level protection over the tenant API, carrying impersonation and takeover detection, bundled with the simulated mail and short training that belong beside it.

  • Joins over the API, then examines whatever has already reached the mailbox.
  • Takeover and impersonation detection, calibrated on your own mail flow.
  • Anything bad can be chased down afterward and taken back from each mailbox.
  • Simulated mail and short training come with each covered mailbox.

Phishing Simulation and Training

Ironscales drilling, purchased on its own

Drilling without the mailbox protection, for the people who ought to be practised but do not hold a mailbox you are covering on the other line.

  • Campaigns that run all year instead of one exercise every December.
  • Training aimed by evidence of conduct, never by which department somebody sits in.
  • Reporting on who is flagging odd mail, not merely on who fell for it.

Where this chart runs out of water

Mail remains the busiest road into a company and the most awkward one to close. What these two codes will and will not do is set out below.

  • Not a gateway, and nobody on this side is going to sell it as one. Should your requirement genuinely be an inspection appliance standing ahead of the tenant, this product is the wrong purchase. Saying so now beats arguing about it at renewal.
  • Somebody will still read a convincing message. No control over mail catches every single one. Detection, withdrawal, and a workforce that reports are what cut the exposure short. None of them cut it to nothing.
  • Drilling moves the odds and not the person. Someone is going to click. What matters is that they say so immediately, and that whatever they clicked with cannot reach very far.
  • Unlicensed mailboxes are outside all of this. Shared boxes, service accounts, and the second tenant that never came up during scoping all sit beyond the quantity you are billed for.
  • Your tenant stays yours to administer. Transport rules, sharing configuration, and licensing remain with your own administrators. Advice is free. Taking the keys is not on offer.
